Think of all that happened to the entire human race under one tree. Our first ancestors disobeyed God here. Now we can barely imagine what life would be like without sin encumbering our every step and every thought. All our relationships and every day of our lives are affected by sin’s tentacles permeating our emotions, our physical bodies, and even all of creation. Now we weaken, we sicken, we die.
Won’t it be a glorious day when we slip free of these bonds and see Christ face to face, renewed, invigorated, and freed at last of the horrible burden of sin and death! This is all possible because Jesus became one of us, lived a sinless life in human flesh, died for us in the most awful way, and then rose again. What would we do without Him!
